The trail head. This is where it all began that fateful rainy day just off of
state route 20 in Washington state's North Cascades National Park (well, actually,
the trailhead is in Okanogan National Forest but who cares about these
technicalities). It was September 9th in the year 2000. And here is the story.
Told through photography...

This is what we came to see. Nature. Wildeness. Beauty.
But watch out for the horse apples!

Rain, rain go away!
And the skies clear...

The trip was a bit of a bitter sweet adventure for me.
I guess because after being surrounded by such splendure as
is nature in the purest sense, and sharing it with some
great people, I returned to our "modern" world. I realy often
wonder, who is more savage, us or the animals?
Thanks to my 8 camping buddies. You all made the trip such a
great experience. Kudos to
Wilderness Inquiry. Especially to Jim and Trish, our guides
(and our constant entertainment). Oh, and Jim, thanks for the sage.
