A few kayaks. Florida's Evergaldes National Park and the
Florida Bay. Mix in a few outgoing people and you
get a great four day get-away.

Remember: Jamie Lee Curtis, three pigs,
a fire and a hungry Richard Simons...in the woods.
The Kayaks in the water.
Gathering for a quick snack...
|
A sight many who CAN see it rarely do and those who want to
often can't... the sun rising over the ocean.

|
A little reading while the sun sets over the water.
|
| The Gloaming -not so much a time
but a feeling that one gets as they watch the sun set.

So, "Why IS the ocean so close to the shore?"

The gourmet meal is prepared by the sea side.

Next to the mosquitos, the muck left a lasting impact on us all.
|
|
Here I share some of our mud moments. |
|
| 'yaks in the mud.
|
|
Jim takes a long walk in the mud for some ocean water.
|
| A little Everglades wildlife. |
|
| Ahh, and of course, the infamous ocean front Lawn John
|
|
A final view. The serenity and beauty of the
Florida Everglades and the Florida Bay.
I wish I had taped the sound one could hear early in the
morning to go along with the pictures. The soft ocean waves
and the drone of the mosquito filled land. Despite their
"Got blood?" attitude, the mosquitos just added to the overall
experience.

Thanks to all of you who shared these moments with me. Sunsets
are always better when viewed with someone else. And stories are better in a group -
like the one of the moose, the guide on the hog and thier unfortunate run-in.
Thanks also to Wilderness Inquiry the
outfitter. And especially to Amy, Jim and Jesse -our guides and inspiration.
